At Solidarity, your interests are paramount. We are a pro-work trade union that works every day to protect you in your workplace. Furthermore, Solidarity wants to assist you in achieving your dreams for finding a good job.
We enable our members and their children to find and keep a good job, and fight anything that might threaten this good job. When you look at cases such as those of Renate Barnard and Renee Fick, it is clear that Solidarity’s bark is also its bite. These women received assistance from Solidarity every step of the way, irrespective of how long it took or where it led them.
Solidarity also found that members experience a gap with regard to further education, especially in Afrikaans. Consequently, S-leer (S-Learning) was established in January 2019. With S-leer, Solidarity wants to encourage Solidarity members to continue learning and honing their skills to give members confidence in the workplace. Members’ circumstances are also taken into account; therefore, options exist for taking courses online or for courses that could be completed at the member’s own pace.
Solidarity’s occupational guilds share occupational news and other information. These guilds have been created to give Solidarity members a platform where knowledge may be shared and where new knowledge about the practical aspects of a profession may be gained. Solidarity wants members to know that they are never alone and that our members are our first priority.
In addition, members may belong to the trade union prescribed by their workplace as well as to Solidarity, because it is possible to belong to two trade unions. It is not uncommon, and it also serves as an extra safety net for you and your interests.
If you are a Solidarity member, you are entitled to Solidarity’s benefits. If you are still hesitant about joining Solidarity, take into account that we want to assist and protect you. In addition, we offer a variety of benefits for you and your loved ones.
Solidarity membership means investing in your own future as well as in the future of your descendants. Become part of this network of hope and security.
