Solidarity’s Collective Complaint against Selective Racism
We have had enough of the double standards being applied in South Africa as far as race is concerned. In motivation for the draft Bill against hate speech and hate crimes, the Deputy Minister of Justice, John Jeffery, said to the United Nations Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination that it was mostly white people who said nasty and unacceptable things about black people. Without offering any evidence, he also alleged that most of the hate crimes were being committed by white people against black people.
Because of this selective racism, disproportionate coverage is given to forms of racism by white people against black people.
